How care works

What to expect, before you decide anything.

There is no appointment to book and nothing to prepare. You answer in your own time, and someone qualified takes it from there.

The shape of it

Everything you bring arrives together, and is considered that way.

Six separate things become one account of your health, someone spends time with it, and it opens into more than one possible answer.

  1. What you bring

Six threads — history, medications, allergies, what you have tried, what you want, and anything needing care.

  2. Considered together

They stop being six separate answers and become one account of your health.

  3. Read by a person

Someone qualified spends time with it, and comes back to you if a detail is missing.

  4. Where it can go

Three possible answers, not one. Which applies depends entirely on what you shared.

What you share

Six threads, read together rather than counted separately.

None of these is a hurdle to clear. They are what makes an answer specific to you rather than to people roughly like you.

  • Health historyWhat has shaped this so far
  • Current medicationsAnd what they interact with
  • AllergiesPart of your record from the start
  • Weight historyWhat has been tried, and how it went
  • GoalsWhat you want this to change
  • Safety considerationsAnything that is a reason to pause
Where a clinician comes in

Someone reads the whole picture before deciding what comes next.

A person considers what you shared as a whole. When something needs more context, you are asked before a decision is made.

Sometimes the honest answer is a question.

If a detail changes what would be appropriate, you are asked about it rather than assumed about — and it waits until you reply.

Could you tell me a little more about the dose you mentioned? It changes what I would suggest.

Your assessmentStep 7 of 13

Answers save as you go. You can pause at any point.

Have you discussed weight management with a clinician before?

Yes, within the last year
No, this is the first time
Where things stand

Your clinician is reading your assessment.

When it is done

There is a note waiting for you, with the reasoning.

Where it can go

Three answers, and none of them is automatic.

  • Eligible for next step

No reason not to go on, so the process continues. This is not a prescription, and no medication is issued or selected.

  • Additional information required

Something needs clarifying first. You are told exactly what, and it picks up where it left off.

  • Not eligible

This is not right for you, and you are told why. Where it helps, you are pointed toward care that fits better.

Which answer applies is determined by the clinician who reviewed it. Completing an assessment does not mean treatment follows.

Questions

About the process.

Do I need an appointment or a video call?
No. You answer in your own time, and the review happens without a scheduled visit.
What if I miss something?
You will be asked for it. Nothing is concluded on an incomplete picture.
Can I see where things have got to?
Yes — your account shows the current stage, and the outcome appears there in writing.

When you are ready, we will start with the whole picture.

About ten minutes, and you can stop at any point. Nothing is decided until someone has read it.
